Dr. Clara Haneul Yoon is a violinist, educator, and scholar whose work spans North America, Europe, and Asia. A graduate of The Juilliard School and Columbia University, she has been praised by New York Magazine for her “extraordinary technique…she can do anything she wants…” and by Seoul Culture & Arts Magazine as “truly virtuosic, with amazing mastery of tone.”
As a soloist, Dr. Yoon has performed at internationally renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York; Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles; Royal Albert Hall in London; Smetana Hall in Prague; and the Seoul Arts Center in Seoul. She also maintains an active chamber career, appearing in recital series and festivals internationally. Her repertoire spans classical and contemporary works, including original compositions and arrangements. With guitarist Drew Henderson, she performs as one half of the duo Good Company, presenting new arrangements and interpretations for violin and guitar across a wide range of musical styles. The duo’s most recent recording was broadcast on CBC Radio. Her versatility has led to collaborations with artists including Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Nas, Erykah Badu, and Questlove for VH1’s Divas Celebrate Soul.
As a scholar, Dr. Yoon studies how genre conventions and concert presentation shape audiences’ listening, attention, and evaluation of music. Building on her doctoral research at Columbia University, her work considers how expectations surrounding performance contexts influence perceptual and emotional experience. In 2022, she founded Saloon Yoon, an interdisciplinary lecture-recital series that brings these ideas into performance, featuring collaborations with artists and writers across disciplines. Each event centers on a different theme, from genre hierarchies and programming to evolving social conventions of concert listening, and is presented through performance and lecture. The series functions as a contemporary third space for shared listening, where performance and public engagement intersect.
Dr. Yoon is an in‑demand clinician, adjudicator, and pedagogue, with collaborations at The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, New York University, Columbia University, Princeton University, the University of Toronto, Western University, and the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her work has been recognized by the College Music Society, where she served as Head of Music Performance in 2025, and by the NAMM Foundation, which awarded her the 2022 President’s Innovation Award for contributions to music education and performance innovation. Outside her professional work, Dr. Yoon is an avid coffee drinker and Lagree and Pilates aficionado with a particular fondness for trees and mountains. She can often be found exploring Toronto’s newest cafés in search of the perfect roast, planning her next hike, or cooking and attempting to keep her many wilting plants alive.
Drew Henderson is a Canadian classical guitarist, recording artist, producer, and educator whose performances and recordings have reached audiences around the world both in the concert hall and online.
As a performer, Drew has concertized throughout Canada, the United States, and Italy and Scotland, presenting programs that combine beloved guitar repertoire with his own acclaimed arrangements and transcriptions. His performances draw from the rich traditions of Spanish, Baroque, and Romantic music while showcasing the expressive possibilities of the modern classical guitar. A recent career highlight was appearing as a guest soloist alongside Lang Lang in Toronto before an audience of more than 3,000 people.
Drew is also the creator of one of the world's most popular classical guitar channels on YouTube. Performing, recording, filming, and producing all of the content himself, he has built an international audience of more than 80,000 subscribers and over 18 million views. His channel features performances on a remarkable collection of instruments, including custom-built 7- and 8-string guitars, as well as original arrangements of works by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolò Paganini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Franz Schubert.
In demand as a producer and recording engineer, Drew has collaborated with many of today's leading classical musicians, creating recordings and video productions for artists and labels across North America, Europe, and Asia. His work has been released on major labels including Decca Records, Naxos Records, and Analekta, and has reached as high as No. 2 on the Billboard Classical Chart.
Drew earned his Master of Music degree from the University of Toronto. He later continued his studies in Milan, Italy, with acclaimed guitarists Lorenzo Micheli and Matteo Mela. During this period, he received six prizes at international guitar competitions.
He performs on 6-, 7-, and 8-string guitars by Canadian luthiers Mark Usherovich, Martin Blackwell, and Jeff Sigurdson.
